FIND THE TOOLS YOU NEEDTO FOLLOW YOUR HEART AND SURVIVE THIS CRAZY, BEAUTIFUL WORLD.
Navigation is this tricky art of finding your path, looking for signs, growing an awareness of your surroundings, learning to be present, grounded, clear, honest and able to respond to the world-quickly. Cairns are stones typically stacked at the crossroads, where the trail forks, where you have the chance to choose a path rather than simply follow the one laid out before you. Without these trail markers a hiker can get lost. If you or someone you know is in crisis or feeling stuck, track me down.I am passionate about guiding people to find the tools they need to follow their hearts and survive this crazy, beautiful world.
I specialize in working with young-ish people who don’t necessarily know which way to go or how to get to where they want to be. I am a guide on this journey towards “adulting”. For many years I have been helping clients get back on their feet after having fallen down in one way or another. I have deep respect for who and where my clients are at, and I meet them here. I give them time to reflect and explore the crack in the concrete they just tripped over, the brambles they are tangled up in, the emotional wilderness they feel lost in. I gently challenge my clients to make sober and thoughtful life decisions, as we begin to explore what radical self-care looks like and what embodied transformation might make possible.
We all come to these crossroads at different times, when life gets complicated and confusing. In these intense moments I can offer you my professional, openhearted camaraderie. You will receive the encouragement you need to authentically express who you are, what you are going through and I will give you support in persevering to find what is true for you. I work with the wisdom of the body, not just the understandings of the mind, as in traditional talk therapy.Being trained in the expressive therapy model of guiding clients inward, I can help you to connect to your strength and calling by engaging in art-making, movement and/or spoken word. Dance/movement therapy is about self-discovery, not perfection or performance. The work we do together can intensify your voice and invigorate your spirit to persevere as the powerful kind of change-maker that you already are.
